The resignation of Lahore High Court Justice Muhammad Raheel Kamran Sheikh remains pending, with the President of Pakistan yet to approve the resignation submitted on September 3.
According to available information, Justice Muhammad Raheel Kamran Sheikh tendered his resignation under Article 206 of the Constitution on September 3 and sent it to the President of Pakistan. A copy of the resignation was also sent to the Registrar of the Lahore High Court.
As the resignation has not yet been approved by the President, Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh’s name continues to appear on the Lahore High Court’s website in the list of judges as well as the seniority list. His name is currently listed at number 27 on the seniority list.
According to sources, Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh has not been performing judicial duties or attending the court since submitting his resignation.
Justice Muhammad Raheel Kamran Sheikh was appointed as a judge of the Lahore High Court on May 7, 2021, and served as a judge for approximately five years.
With the resignation yet to receive final approval, the current status of Justice Muhammad Raheel Kamran Sheikh’s judicial office remains unresolved.
