Tehran: Iran’s military has reacted to US President Donald Trump’s statement, saying that the United States has seriously undermined the security of global energy transportation by interfering in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement issued from Tehran, Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said that the cooperation of some countries in the region has unfortunately increased the risk of the conflict spreading.

Iran’s armed forces also warned the United States against attempting to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz and threatened attacks against those who support Washington.

Zolfaqari said that Iran does not and will not allow the United States to interfere in the administrative affairs of the Strait of Hormuz.

He further stated that any form of cooperation with the United States by any country would be considered equivalent to a war against Iran’s sovereignty, adding that such a conflict would engulf all countries in the region.
