Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana has said that World Cups bring pressure, emotions and memories together, and being part of all these moments is a dream for cricketers.

Fatima Sana said Pakistan were excited to compete against the world’s best teams. She said the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England would be another opportunity to showcase their skills on the global stage.

She said leading the team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was an honour and added that she was excited to captain the side once again in the tournament.

Fatima said the Pakistan team had a good combination of senior experienced players and young cricketers, adding that the squad included match-winners.

She said Pakistan had consistent performers such as Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal. She added that the team now better understood how to play under pressure and how to make the most of opportunities.

Fatima Sana said T20 cricket had played a major role in the growth of women’s cricket, as the format increased the energy and entertainment value of women cricketers and created more opportunities for them.

She also said the viewership of women’s T20 cricket had increased.
