Political Temperature Rises in Islamabad After Bilawal-Opposition Meeting

Political contacts have intensified in Islamabad, highlighting growing differences between government and opposition circles. Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s meeting with opposition leaders, consultations on parliamentary strategy and a subsequent strong statement by Mahmood Khan Achakzai about the government’s future have created fresh political activity.

Political temperatures in the federal capital appear to be rising, with questions being raised over the political affairs of the ruling coalition while contacts among opposition parties have also accelerated. In this situation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s meeting with opposition leaders and Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s statement regarding the government’s future have added further significance to the political situation.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas at the opposition chamber of the National Assembly.

The meeting discussed parliamentary affairs, the country’s political situation and future political strategy.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan Secretary General Asad Qaiser, Vice Chairman Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, PTI Chief Whip in the National Assembly Aamir Dogar, Member of the National Assembly Adil Bazai and Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan spokesperson Akhundzada Hussain were also present at the meeting.
