Pakistan is playing an active role through behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts to help pave the way for possible talks between Tehran and Washington. In this context, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reached the Iranian capital, Tehran, for the second time in less than a week.
Iran’s state-run news agency IRNA, citing diplomatic sources, reported that Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi had once again arrived in Tehran. According to the report, this is his second visit to Iran in less than a week, reflecting growing diplomatic contacts between the two countries.
In recent days, Iran has presented a 14-point plan in response to the latest proposal from the United States, while Pakistan is playing an important mediation role between the two countries in this process.
During his visit to Tehran, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also met senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Ahmad Vahidi. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, security cooperation and the regional situation.
According to Iranian news agency Tasnim, this is Mohsin Naqvi’s second visit to Iran within a week, and it is being viewed as an important development in the context of ongoing regional tensions and Iran-US contacts.
Sources said Mohsin Naqvi is expected to discuss Iran-US talks, the regional security situation and possible diplomatic developments with the Iranian leadership. However, the formal agenda of his current visit has not yet been made public.
Earlier, during his recent visit to Tehran, Mohsin Naqvi held a lengthy meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The meeting lasted nearly 90 minutes and included detailed discussions on bilateral relations, the regional situation and diplomatic matters.
