The Pakistan Navy has promoted four Commodores—Tasawur Iqbal, Muhammad Umair, Shahid Wasif, and Rao Ahmad Imran Anwar—to the rank of Rear Admiral.
According to a Pakistan Navy spokesperson, Rear Admiral Tasawur Iqbal was commissioned into the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1995. He is a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, and the National Defence University, Islamabad. He also completed the Inter Services Staff Course in France.
During his distinguished career, Rear Admiral Tasawur Iqbal has held a wide range of command and staff appointments, including Commanding Officer of PNS Alamgir, Commander of the 25th Destroyer Squadron, Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy, and Senior Pakistan Navy Officer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is currently serving as Commander West. In recognition of his outstanding services, he has been awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military).
Rear Admiral Muhammad Umair was commissioned into the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1996. He graduated from the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, and the National Defence University, Islamabad. He also completed the Communication Command Course in China and the Naval Staff College Course in the United States.
Throughout his distinguished career, Rear Admiral Muhammad Umair has served in various command and staff appointments, including Commanding Officer of PNS Quwwat, PNS Tariq, and PNS Tabuk, as well as Commander of the 14th Destroyer Squadron. He has also served as Deputy Director Naval Operational Plans (Strategy) at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. He is currently serving as Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy, Karachi. In recognition of his distinguished services, he has been awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military).
Rear Admiral Shahid Wasif was commissioned into the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1996. He is a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, and the National Defence University, Islamabad. He also completed the Advanced Command and Staff Course in the United Kingdom, earned a Master’s degree in Defence Studies from King’s College London, completed the Defence and Strategic Studies Course in Australia, and obtained a Master’s degree in International Relations from Deakin University, Australia.

During his distinguished career, Rear Admiral Shahid Wasif has held several command and staff appointments, including Commanding Officer of PNS Saif, Deputy Director Naval Operational Plans (Strategy), Assistant Naval Secretary (Operations), Director Human Resources, and Principal Secretary to the Chief of the Naval Staff at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. He is currently serving as Commander of the 25th Destroyer Squadron. In recognition of his outstanding services, he has been awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military).
Rear Admiral Rao Ahmad Imran Anwar was commissioned into the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1996. He graduated from the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, and the National Defence University, Islamabad. He also completed the Advanced Command and Staff Course in the United Kingdom and earned a Master’s degree in Defence Studies from King’s College London.
During his distinguished career, Rear Admiral Rao Ahmad Imran Anwar has served in a number of command and staff appointments, including Commanding Officer of PNS Zarrar, PNS Shamsheer, and PNS Zulfiqar, as well as Commander of the 10th Patrol Craft Squadron.
He has also served as Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad, Naval Adviser (Pakistan) in New Delhi, India, and Deputy Commandant of the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore. He is currently serving as Naval Secretary at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. In recognition of his distinguished services, Rear Admiral Rao Ahmad Imran Anwar has been awarded both the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and the Tamgha-e-Basalat.
