KARACHI: The investigation into the death of Karachi youth Mir Raza has taken a significant new turn after investigators obtained potentially crucial evidence from the victim’s body and chemical examinations, according to investigation sources.

Sources confirmed that important evidence had been recovered from Mir Raza’s stomach and lungs as investigators seek to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Investigators have also found evidence of unusual effects on the victim’s lungs, while traces of another person’s sweat were reportedly detected on his shirt. A forensic report, including DNA and chemical analysis of the samples, is still awaited.

Investigators have also collected evidence from the victim’s hands and feet, which officials believe could help establish the nature and sequence of events leading to his death.

As part of an expanded investigation, police have sealed a guest house near the scene where Mir Raza’s body was found.

Six employees associated with the guest house have also been taken into custody for questioning as investigators attempt to reconstruct activities on the night of the incident.

According to sources, a total of 21 people have so far been detained in connection with the investigation. They include some of Mir Raza’s close friends and business associates.

Police sources said separate questionnaires had been given to those in custody and their detailed statements had been recorded.

Investigators are now awaiting forensic and chemical analysis reports, which are expected to provide further evidence regarding the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s death.
