Islamabad: Court has ordered the arrest and production of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi after he failed to appear before the court in a case related to allegedly making misleading allegations against state institutions and damaging their reputation.
The hearing was held at the District and Sessions Courts, where the case against Suhail Afridi was taken up. During the proceedings, the court maintained the non-bailable arrest warrants issued against the chief minister due to his absence and directed the authorities to arrest him and produce him before the court.
The case was heard by Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah. Following the hearing, the court adjourned further proceedings until July.
It is pertinent to mention that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against Suhail Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
