Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the government is trying to place the minimum possible burden on the public in the upcoming budget.

The federal finance minister said the budget would focus on enforcement and compliance instead of increasing taxes. He said efforts were being made to keep the burden on citizens as low as possible, while the government was continuously taking steps to reduce inflation.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb said the government was actively working to reduce tensions in the region, and Pakistan’s diplomatic successes were being appreciated internationally.

The federal minister said political parties should work together for economic stability instead of engaging in criticism for the sake of criticism.

He said a significant increase in wheat production was possible through modern technology in the agriculture sector, adding that some farmers had increased wheat output to 60 to 70 maunds per acre.

Muhammad Aurangzeb further said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was fully aware of the problems facing the agriculture sector. He added that if agricultural production increased in Pakistan, the country’s export potential could see a major rise.
