RAWALPINDI: The 276th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has resolved that any attempt to spread unrest in Pakistan with external support will be dealt with firmly and without hesitation. The forum stated that following its defeat in Marka-e-Haq, India is attempting to create instability through hybrid warfare and false narratives.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the conference began with participants paying tribute to the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs and offering Fateha for the elevation of their ranks.
The forum reaffirmed its commitment to Pakistan’s security, unity, and resilience, stating that these principles will always remain the foundation of the country’s strength.
The Corps Commanders expressed serious concern over the continued planning and use of Indian-backed terrorist groups operating from areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime to carry out attacks against Pakistan.
The forum stated that sustainable peace and stability in the region are contingent upon preventing Indian proxies from operating from territory under the control of the Afghan Taliban. It emphasized that it is the responsibility of the self-proclaimed leadership of the Afghan Taliban regime to ensure that the territory under its control is not used for carrying out terrorist activities against Pakistan.
The conference reiterated that Pakistan has every right to protect and defend its people against terrorism. It added that Pakistan’s Armed Forces will continue intelligence-based operations under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq against terrorist threats originating from areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban.
According to the ISPR, the participants also stressed the need to establish effective governance in terrorism-affected areas through a strong administrative structure that is focused on public service and welfare while dismantling the nexus between terrorism and crime that thrives under malicious political patronage.
The forum further stated that after suffering what it described as a humiliating defeat in Marka-e-Haq, the enemy is attempting to spread unrest through hybrid warfare and fabricated narratives. It vowed that every such externally supported attempt to create instability would be crushed firmly and without any hesitation.
The Corps Commanders also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and reducing tensions.
Taking notice of India’s statements regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, the conference stated that the directives issued by the National Security Committee on 24 April 2025 provide complete guidance on the matter.
According to the ISPR, the Armed Forces of Pakistan reaffirmed that, in accordance with government directives and the aspirations of the people of Pakistan, they will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to ensure the country’s rightful share of water.
The Corps Commanders once again reiterated that Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein and maintained that lasting peace in the region depends upon granting the people of Jammu and Kashmir their inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
