RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Prosecution Department has declared the Hina Javed murder case a high-profile case and constituted a special committee comprising senior prosecutors to oversee the investigation and prosecution proceedings.
The Prosecutor General Punjab has issued necessary directions to the District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi for effective prosecution of the case and close monitoring of the investigation.
In this regard, an important meeting was held under the supervision of the District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi with the relevant police officials. The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police Potohar, a Deputy Superintendent of Police and the Station House Officer of Civil Lines.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress made so far in the investigation and prosecution of the woman’s murder case.

The District Public Prosecutor examined the available case record and received briefings from the relevant officers on the progress of the investigation, evidence collected and various legal aspects of the case.
The participants also discussed measures to ensure that the investigation proceeds strictly on merit and in accordance with the law, as well as issues related to the prosecution of the case.
According to the Prosecution Department, the special committee will continuously monitor both the investigation and court proceedings to ensure that the case is pursued effectively and in accordance with all legal requirements.
The relevant officials have also been directed to keep prosecution authorities regularly updated on developments in the case.
