LAHORE: A sessions court in Lahore has directed Punjab Provincial Minister Azma Bukhari to appear in person to record her statement in a case concerning the alleged circulation of a fake video on social media.

Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqui announced the decision while hearing the case related to the alleged dissemination of the fake video involving the provincial minister.

The court dismissed Bukhari’s application seeking permission to record her statement via video link and directed her to appear in person at the next hearing for the recording of her statement.

Bukhari had challenged an earlier decision of a judicial magistrate requiring her to personally appear before the court to record her statement.

The provincial minister has lodged a case with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against Falak Javed over the alleged circulation of the fake video on social media.
