Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has asked all lawmakers and party leaders to prepare for tonight, saying that every square across Pakistan would be turned into “D-Chowk” at 10pm and directing workers to come out at squares and intersections carrying Pakistan and PTI flags.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi reached Adiala Road to meet PTI founder Imran Khan, while Rawalpindi police removed barriers from Adiala Road.

At the Factory checkpoint, the KP chief minister asked the SHO of Saddar Bairuni what message he had brought. Noticing a man in plain clothes, Afridi asked about his presence, saying, “You are also an SHO and he is also an SHO?” He then asked the plain-clothes man whether he was a brigadier, colonel or major. The man replied that he was a journalist.

A journalist asked Afridi whether there appeared to be any chance of a meeting as there had been no response from the police, and whether he would stay or leave. The chief minister said he would wait as long as there was still time for the meeting.

He added that all MPAs, parliamentarians and office-bearers had been told to prepare for 10pm. “At 10pm, we will turn every square across Pakistan into D-Chowk,” he said, directing all workers to come out at squares and intersections at 10pm carrying Pakistan and PTI flags.

Another journalist asked Afridi how he could talk about gathering 200,000 people when he could not gather 10,000. The chief minister responded by asking who the journalist was, which channel he represented and told him to come forward. When the journalist said he was from digital media, Afridi said he did not respond to digital media.

The chief minister said the treatment meted out to the PTI founder and his party since 2022 was wrong. He said the entire country was being pushed towards destruction because of stubbornness and ego, adding that the system had been destroyed and those who brought this system were responsible for its destruction.

Afridi directed party workers to keep their focus on the September 27 march.

He said the September 27 call had become a nightmare for them, adding that a “sea of people” had come out in Khyber the previous day and that they would also visit the remaining districts.

“We have said that we will bring two million people to Islamabad on September 27, and we will bring even more,” he said. “If they want to improve the situation, they should arrange our meeting before September 28.”

The chief minister further said that the other political parties were not sincere with the country, adding that a government minister himself was saying that the system had collapsed.
