LAHORE: Police have arrested six suspects in connection with the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abdullah Tahir in Lahore’s Ghalib Market area, while raids are underway to apprehend the alleged mastermind and the shooters involved in the attack.

According to police, the arrested suspects are accused of facilitating the assailants. During the investigation, police also seized the vehicle allegedly used to transport the shooters to the crime scene.

Police sources said the vehicle had been rented from Gujranwala. The suspects allegedly fitted it with a fake number plate to conceal their identity before travelling to Gulberg. They later switched to motorcycles and, according to the investigation, reached a location near Abdullah Tahir’s clinic, where the attack was carried out.
