MASTUNG: District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security gunman were martyred, while Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari and another person sustained serious injuries after unidentified armed men opened fire on their vehicle on the National Highway in Mastung.
According to Mastung Deputy Commissioner Bahram Saleem, District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar was travelling from Quetta to Mastung when unidentified terrorists targeted his vehicle on the National Highway. As a result of the attack, the Sessions Judge and his security gunman were martyred on the spot, while Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari and another person were seriously injured.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where the injured are receiving medical treatment. Following the incident, security forces and law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Checkpoints have also been established at various locations to arrest the attackers.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack, saying that the assault on Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar was, in fact, an attack on the state.
He said that the terrorists and their facilitators would be brought to their logical end at all costs. He added that the blood of the guardians of the law would not go in vain, those challenging the writ of the state would be crushed, and there would be no safe haven for terrorists in Balochistan.
