GILGIT: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Gilgit has arrested a suspect on charges of espionage and obtained a one-day physical remand for further investigation.

A case has been registered against the suspect under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016. The suspect was presented before a court, which approved a one-day physical remand.

The arrested suspect is accused of sending sensitive information to a foreign intelligence agency. According to the NCCIA, digital forensic analysis established that the suspect shared GPS-tagged photographs of sensitive military installations.

The agency stated that the shared images included PAF Qadri Base, Skardu Airport, and CMH Skardu.
