The federal government has announced another increase in the prices of petroleum products, marking the third consecutive day of fuel price hikes.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs7.83 per litre, while the price of petrol has gone up by Rs6.39 per litre.

Under the revised rates, the new price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs375.04 per litre, while petrol will now be available at Rs327.12 per litre, the notification stated.

The latest increase comes after the government’s decision to determine petroleum product prices on a daily basis, resulting in fuel prices being raised for the third straight day.

The government maintains that petroleum prices in the international market have continued to rise due to the US-Iran war, leading to higher fuel prices in Pakistan as well.
