Lahore: 15 Children Trapped After Roof Collapses at Tuition Centre in Kahna

Lahore: At least 14 children died after the roof of a tuition center collapsed in the Kahna area of Lahore.

The Punjab Health Minister confirmed that 14 children had died in the incident. According to Rescue officials, between 20 and 25 children, along with a female teacher, were present inside the tuition center at the time of the incident.

Rescue authorities said they received information about the incident at 4:45 p.m. They rescued five to six children from the debris. According to officials, two children were discharged after receiving first aid, while four others remain under treatment. Their condition is reported to be out of danger.

Local residents said the children had come to the school academy for tuition classes. Police stated that construction work was underway on the upper floor of the tuition center, while the children were studying on the ground floor when the roof collapsed.

Police have taken five individuals associated with operating the tuition center into custody. Authorities said all facts surrounding the incident will be brought to light following an investigation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in the Kahna tuition center roof collapse. He prayed for the departed souls, extended his condolences to the bereaved families, prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured, and directed authorities to ensure they receive every possible medical facility.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took notice of the Kahna tuition center roof collapse and sought a report on the incident from the relevant authorities. She also directed officials to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured children.
