U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for his first visit to China in nine years. Trump last visited China in 2017 during his presidency.
According to Chinese state media, Trump is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss bilateral trade and the global economy. The meeting is expected to focus on economic cooperation and key international issues affecting both countries.
Before departing for China, President Trump told reporters in Washington that he would hold detailed talks with Xi Jinping regarding the Iran war. However, he added that he did not believe he needed the Chinese president’s help on the Iran issue.
Trump also praised Pakistan’s role in negotiations, saying Pakistan had been “excellent” in the dialogue process. He further praised Syed Asim Munir, describing him as an outstanding personality.
The visit is being closely watched amid ongoing global economic and geopolitical developments.
