ZHOB: At least 40 people, including women and children, died and several others were injured after a passenger bus traveling from Quetta to Peshawar plunged into a deep ravine in the Danasar area of Zhob district, Balochistan.
According to police, the tragic accident occurred in the Danasar area when the passenger bus, traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, reportedly went out of control after its brakes failed and fell into a deep ravine.
Rescue teams and the district administration rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the accident and launched relief operations. Rescue personnel recovered the bodies and the injured from the ravine and shifted them to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Zhob, where the injured are receiving medical treatment.

Police said that those who died and those injured include women and children. They added that the condition of some of the injured is critical, raising fears that the death toll could rise.
According to officials, preliminary investigations suggest that brake failure may have been the cause of the accident. However, further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
