ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has sentenced Islamabad DIG Jawad Tariq to one month in prison for failing to submit the challan in a protest case involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders.

The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, who was presiding over the case related to protests allegedly involving PTI leaders.

The court awarded DIG Jawad Tariq one month of imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 for not submitting the challan in the case.

According to the court, the punishment was handed down because the challan had not been submitted despite multiple notices issued in the matter.
