Prime Minister Approves Four-Year Extension in DG IB Fawad Asadullah Khan’s Service

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved an extension in the tenure of Director General Intelligence Bureau Fawad Asadullah Khan.

Following the prime minister’s approval, a notification has been issued, according to which DG IB Fawad Asadullah Khan’s service has been extended for four years.

Fawad Asadullah Khan was appointed Director General of the Intelligence Bureau on April 21, 2022. He is the first officer from the intelligence cadre to be promoted to Grade 22 and appointed as DG IB.

He was awarded the Tamgha-e-Shujaat in 1996 and the Sitara-e-Shujaat in 2017. In recognition of his services during Marka-e-Haq, he was also conferred the Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 2025.
