President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended greetings and best wishes to the nation and the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

In his message, President Zardari said Eidul Azha reminds people of the great values of patience, loyalty and sacrifice. He said promoting love, tolerance and dialogue instead of hatred and division is the need of the hour, while keeping national unity above all else.

The president said every individual should play a role in the country’s development by creating ease for vulnerable segments of society. He added that the joys of Eid are complete only when deserving and white-collar members of society are also included in them.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Eidul Azha teaches the lesson of Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi and obedience to Allah. He said sacrificing one’s life, desires and interests for a higher purpose is the peak of faith.

The prime minister said the martyrs who laid down their lives in the fight against terrorism are the pride of the nation. He urged people to take special care of the poor, needy and deserving on Eid so that unity, harmony and sacrifice can be promoted in society.

Both leaders also offered special prayers for the country’s development, prosperity and security.
