ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a show-cause notice to a GNN TV channel for airing a controversial statement.
According to details, a controversial statement by Mohsin Baig against Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb was broadcast during an Eid show on GNN TV.
Sources said that following the controversial remarks, derogatory content against the federal minister also circulated on social media.
In its show-cause notice, PEMRA questioned why action should not be taken against the private channel for airing the controversial statement.
