KARACHI: A Consumer Protection Court has ordered Pakistan Railways to pay Rs50,000 in compensation to a passenger in a case involving the late departure and arrival of a train.
The citizen, in an application filed before the Consumer Protection Court Karachi South, stated that he had booked a ticket for the Khyber Mail from Ghotki to Karachi in 2025.
According to the petitioner, the train was scheduled to depart from Ghotki at 6:40pm but instead left at 10:11pm.
As a result of the delay, the train reached Karachi at 10:45am instead of its scheduled arrival time of 6:40am.
The petitioner maintained that the late arrival disrupted his scheduled engagements.
The court subsequently ordered Pakistan Railways to pay Rs50,000 in compensation to the citizen.
