Punjab Bar Council has barred the lawyers representing MPA Saqib Chadhar and Momina Iqbal’s sister, Ramsha Iqbal, from speaking to the media regarding their ongoing case.
The decision was made during a hearing before the Punjab Bar Disciplinary Committee, which was reviewing a petition seeking the suspension of Ramsha Iqbal and Saqib Chadhar’s lawyers’ licenses.
The four-member disciplinary committee, chaired by Abbas Ali Chadhar, conducted the hearing. During the session, MPA Saqib Chadhar appeared alongside his lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, and requested the committee to note that all media statements made by the lawyer were based on his instructions and that he possessed evidence supporting all claims.
Lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq stated that he had presented his client’s position to the media after MPA Chadhar’s direction. He added that the case originated when Momina Iqbal posted a story on social media, which led to a complaint being filed with the NCCIA.
He further stated that both Ramsha Iqbal and Momina Iqbal had also spoken to the media, and that his client’s media statements were fully documented with evidence.

Ramsha Iqbal, during her arguments, said she was standing by her sister and described all allegations against her as baseless.
The committee chairman, Abbas Ali Chadhar, remarked that both lawyers had turned a party dispute into a personal issue and stressed that no lawyer connected to the case would be allowed to speak to the media about it.
The Punjab Bar Council adjourned the hearing and scheduled the next session for the following week.
