Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has left Tehran, with progress expected on a possible agreement between the United States and Iran.

According to Iranian media reports, Field Marshal Asim Munir departed from Tehran, while Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also left the Iranian capital.

Field Marshal Asim Munir met President Masoud Pezeshkian during his one-day visit to Tehran. He also held meetings with Iranian Speaker Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had been present in Tehran since last week.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking to the media in New Delhi, said Iran may accept the deal by Saturday and that the war in the Middle East could possibly end by then.

He said the United States may have something to say today, tomorrow or in the coming days, adding that he hoped there would be good news regarding Iran.

Iranian negotiating team spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the final text of the agreement between Iran and the United States is being reviewed.

Baghaei said a Pakistani delegation arrived on Friday evening regarding the final text of the Iran-US agreement, while Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had already been in Tehran for the past few days.

The Iranian negotiating team spokesperson said the sides were close to a draft.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Baghaei clarified that the US side has no connection with the Strait of Hormuz and that Iran and Oman will jointly develop a plan on the matter. He said Iran would also hold talks with other countries regarding the waterway and was aware of the security of ships passing through it.

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has completed a short but highly important official visit to Iran, during which encouraging progress was made toward a final understanding following intensive discussions over the past 24 hours.

The ISPR said Field Marshal Asim Munir was received on arrival in Iran by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, along with senior civil and military officials.

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir held important meetings with Iran’s top leadership during the visit.

The meetings focused on ongoing mediation efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region and establishing peace. The ISPR said the engagements were part of continuing diplomatic and mediation efforts.
