Court Sentences Farrukh Khokhar to Life Imprisonment in Majid Satti Murder Case

RAWALPINDI: An Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced the main accused, Farrukh Khokhar, to life imprisonment in the Majid Satti murder case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Afsha Ejaz Soofi announced the verdict, sentencing three convicts, including Farrukh Khokhar, to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in the case. Another accused, Waseem, was acquitted.

Following the announcement of the verdict, the three convicts present in the courtroom, including Farrukh Khokhar, were taken into custody. Farrukh Khokhar had been out on bail, while the other two convicts had been brought to court from jail. The court ordered that Farrukh Khokhar be sent to Adiala Jail under strict security arrangements.

A large number of the victim’s family members and relatives were present at the Judicial Complex when the verdict was announced. A large number of supporters of Farrukh Khokhar and the other co-accused also gathered at the Judicial Complex. Tight security arrangements had been put in place to maintain law and order.

The accused were charged with brutally murdering Majid Satti on August 23, 2022. The case was registered by Sadiqabad Police Station. Majid Satti belonged to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and he was allegedly killed for preventing the illegal occupation of a plot of land. Farrukh Khokhar had resigned from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and later joined Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).
