The suspect, wanted for serious crimes including murder and abduction, was captured during a joint operation carried out based on a tip-off near the Landhi Railway Station.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Shah Latif Police, and Jail Police collaborated in the operation, successfully arresting the fugitive. According to authorities, the operation was based on confidential information, which led them to the vicinity of Landhi Railway Station, where the suspect was taken into custody. Jail police officers at the scene identified the arrested individual as Tahir Naveed.

Police confirmed that Tahir Naveed, also known as Polka, had escaped from Malir Jail on May 9. At the time of his escape, he was facing serious charges of murder and abduction and had multiple cases registered against him at Shah Latif Town Police Station.

Sources also revealed that Tahir Naveed’s name had surfaced in the investigation of the murder case of senior journalist Shahid Wali Babar.

Authorities stated that the fugitive had managed to escape during a special event at the jail, taking advantage of the presence of guests to flee the facility.

Following his arrest, Tahir Naveed was transferred to an undisclosed location for further questioning.

In response to the re-arrest of the notorious criminal, Sindh’s Minister for Prisons, Ali Hassan Zardari, expressed his satisfaction, asserting that escaping the law is impossible. He further stated that state institutions are fully active in ensuring public safety and are tightening the noose around criminal elements through joint operations.

Blue Passport

Senate Committee Approves Bill to Revise Blue Passport Rules for Senators and Families

The Senate Standing Committee on Interior has approved a bill related to the issuance of blue (diplomatic) passports to senators and recommended removing the six-year service condition for senators and their children to obtain such passports.

The committee meeting reviewed the bill proposing changes in eligibility criteria for blue passports issued to members of the Senate and their families.

During the meeting, Chairman of the committee Senator Faisal Saleem expressed anger over the absence of the Director General of Passports and questioned his whereabouts, asking why he was not present.

The bill was presented by Senator Abdul Qadir, who stated that a senator should be eligible for a blue passport if they serve for three years in the Senate.

However, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry opposed the proposal, stating that blue passports have been misused in the past. He added that while he would not name individuals, “everyone knows” about such misuse.

Talal Chaudhry further said that holders of blue passports can travel to several countries without visas, and cited an incident involving the 28-year-old son of MNA Iqbal Afridi, who traveled to a country on a blue passport, later moved to Italy, and applied for political asylum while surrendering the passport. He said this incident caused embarrassment when a message was received from abroad.

He added that when Pakistan discusses visa facilitation with other countries, it is often questioned about the number of blue passports issued. He said the government has already tightened rules for diplomatic and blue passports and reduced their numbers, issuing them only where necessary.

The minister also stated that misuse of blue passports affects Pakistan’s ability to sign memorandums of understanding with other countries.

Donald Trump Reaches China

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for his first visit to China in nine years. Trump last visited China in 2017 during his presidency.

According to Chinese state media, Trump is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss bilateral trade and the global economy. The meeting is expected to focus on economic cooperation and key international issues affecting both countries.

Before departing for China, President Trump told reporters in Washington that he would hold detailed talks with Xi Jinping regarding the Iran war. However, he added that he did not believe he needed the Chinese president’s help on the Iran issue.

Trump also praised Pakistan’s role in negotiations, saying Pakistan had been “excellent” in the dialogue process. He further praised Syed Asim Munir, describing him as an outstanding personality.

The visit is being closely watched amid ongoing global economic and geopolitical developments.

US Iran

Iran Urges US to Accept Peace Plan or face ‘failure’

Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, warned the United States on Tuesday that failure to accept Tehran’s latest peace proposal would result in continued failure and escalating consequences for American taxpayers. This came after US President Donald Trump expressed concerns that the truce in the ongoing Middle East war was on the verge of collapse.

The war, which erupted more than two months ago following US-Israeli strikes on Iran, has caused widespread turmoil throughout the Middle East and has had a significant impact on the global economy. Despite the ceasefire, the conflict continues to affect hundreds of millions of people around the world. Both Iran and the US have repeatedly threatened to resume fighting, but neither side seems willing to return to all-out war.

In a post on X, Ghalibaf stated, “There is no alternative but to accept the rights of the Iranian people as laid out in the 14-point proposal. Any other approach will be completely inconclusive; nothing but one failure after another.” He added, “The longer they drag their feet, the more American taxpayers will pay for it.”

Iran’s peace proposal was sent in response to an earlier US plan, details of which remain limited. According to media reports, the US plan included a one-page memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the fighting and establishing a framework for future negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme.

Iran’s foreign ministry outlined in its response a call for ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, lifting the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, and securing the release of Iranian assets frozen abroad due to longstanding sanctions.

However, President Trump dismissed Iran’s response, calling it “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.” He further stated that the US would achieve a “complete victory” over Iran and emphasized that the truce, which has halted fighting for over a month, was on the brink of collapse.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards held drills in Tehran, which they said were aimed at “enhancing combat capability to confront any movement of the American-Zionist enemy,” according to state media reports on Tuesday.

The escalating war of words has created uncertainty among the people of Iran, who are increasingly unsure of what the future holds. “We are just trying to dig our nails into anything that could help us survive. The future is so uncertain and we are just living day to day,” said Maryam, a 43-year-old painter from Tehran. “We are trying to find a way to continue. Keeping hope is very difficult right now,” she added in an interview with Paris-based journalists.

Karachi Police Arrest Notorious Drug Trafficker “Pinky” in Major Narcotics Bust

Karachi : Police have successfully apprehended a key figure in a large drug trafficking network, identifying the suspect as Anmol, also known as Pinky. The arrest was made following a significant crackdown on narcotics distribution in the city.

The local court has sent the accused on judicial remand and instructed the investigating officer to submit the challan (charge sheet) within the next 14 days.

According to police sources, Anmol, who is suspected of being the leader of an extensive drug network, was arrested in the Garden area of Karachi. During the arrest, authorities recovered large quantities of drugs, including hashish, as well as a weapon.

The total value of the seized narcotics is estimated to exceed Rs. 1.5 million. Despite this, Anmol was presented in court without handcuffs, a lapse that the Karachi police chief has taken notice of.

In addition to drugs, a pistol and live ammunition were also found in the possession of the accused. Law enforcement officials have revealed that Anmol was operating a well-organized narcotics network, which was responsible for supplying drugs to various regions across the country.

Her operations reportedly involved female riders, who were used to distribute the drugs discreetly. The buyers in her network included students and people from different walks of life.

Authorities have further disclosed that Anmol was allegedly supplying drugs to some influential individuals, and several police cases have been registered against her at the Garden police station.

She has been wanted in ten cases and was on the run before her arrest. Investigations into her associates and the broader drug network are ongoing, with officials collecting evidence from multiple angles.

Initial reports suggest that Anmol, originally from Kasur, had established a powerful drug trafficking operation in Karachi, which was managed with a high level of organization. It has also been revealed that the name “Pinky” was often used as a code word in narcotics transactions to conceal the operation’s activities.

Meanwhile, a leaked audio clip allegedly featuring Anmol has gone viral, in which she defiantly claims that her drug operation runs 24/7, stating, “We are operating freely; if you can catch us, go ahead.

We’ve spread chaos all over Karachi. If you can stop us, then stop us.” In the audio, Anmol further mocks law enforcement, claiming that retired officers have called her to confess their inability to arrest her. She also ridicules the competence of the police.

This disturbing revelation has raised concerns about the reach of her operations and the audacity of the accused. Police officials have vowed to continue their investigations and dismantle the drug network that Anmol allegedly ran.

Authorities have emphasized that they are committed to cracking down on drug trafficking in Karachi, and Anmol’s arrest is seen as a significant victory in the ongoing war against narcotics.
