Rawalpindi Police Arrest Man Accused of Luring Woman from Bangkok with Promise of Marriage and Sexually Assaulting Her

RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a case over the alleged sexual assault of a woman who was brought to Rawalpindi from Bangkok after being promised marriage, and subsequently arrested the accused.

The case was registered at Rawat Police Station in Rawalpindi on the complaint of the woman.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the woman met Aamir Sohail in Bangkok two years ago and the two became friends. She alleged that the accused persuaded her to come to Pakistan by promising to marry her.

The FIR stated that the woman moved into a rented apartment in Bahria Town four months ago.

According to the complainant, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted her by force multiple times during this period and continued to make excuses whenever she asked him to marry her.

She further alleged that the accused did not allow her to leave the apartment and also subjected her to violence. She said she managed to escape with difficulty and went to a doctor.

According to the FIR, the accused also took her money with him when he left.

Following the registration of the case, the investigation was handed over to the Special Sexual Investigation Unit (SSIO Unit).

Police subsequently arrested Aamir Sohail and shifted him to Rawat Police Station.

Police have started questioning the accused regarding the incident.
