All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has rejected the proposed petroleum price deregulation policy and warned of a protest and strike if the government does not withdraw the decision.
Chairman of the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association, Nauman Ali Butt, said the association rejects the government’s proposed petroleum price deregulation policy. He warned that if the decision is not reversed, the association will consider holding protests and a strike next week.
He urged the government to review its policy and said the burden of the new system should not be placed on petrol pump owners.

He also called on the government to take all stakeholders into confidence before finalizing pricing arrangements with Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). According to him, nearly 15,000 petrol pump owners across the country have serious reservations about the proposed policy.
Nauman Ali Butt further said the new policy would affect oil tankers, transportation, and the petroleum pricing system. He urged the government to consult petrol pump owners instead of making unilateral decisions.
