ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) successfully rescued all 20 Pakistani crew members from a sinking cargo boat near Ormara in their second successful rescue operation within 24 hours.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Navy and PMSA carried out a joint rescue operation after the cargo vessel “Alhamd Bin Yaqoob” sank in the open sea near Ormara.
The boat met with an accident approximately 32 nautical miles south of Ormara. Following information received from the Joint Maritime Information Center, PNS Haneen, a Pakistan Navy Sea King helicopter, and a PMSA Defender vessel were deployed for the rescue mission.
ISPR said all 20 crew members were safely rescued and are being provided with first aid.
The military’s media wing added that the timely and effective operation once again demonstrated the Pakistan Navy’s professional capabilities.
