Religious scholar Nasir Madani has apologised to actress Momina Iqbal over his controversial remarks, attempting to resolve the matter amicably.

According to details, the controversy arose after a dispute involving actress Momina Iqbal and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the Provincial Assembly Saqib Chadhar. During a speech, Nasir Madani strongly criticised Momina Iqbal over the issue.

He levelled serious allegations against the actress and held her responsible for the controversy, sparking widespread debate on social media.

Following Nasir Madani’s remarks, Momina Iqbal described the statements as damaging to her reputation and dignity and announced legal action against him.

On June 17, through her lawyer, Advocate Adnan Ahsan Khan, she served Nasir Madani with a legal notice seeking Rs170 million in damages.

The legal notice stated that Nasir Madani’s remarks had harmed the actress’s reputation, professional career, and social standing. It demanded that he retract his statements, remove the related content, and issue an unconditional public apology.

Nasir Madani has since apologised for his controversial remarks in an effort to settle the matter amicably. However, it remains unclear whether the legal notice will be withdrawn.
