RAWALPINDI : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) local leader Ejaz Satti reportedly died after being taken into custody by Westridge police in Rawalpindi.
According to the information provided, Satti was arrested by Westridge police and was being taken away in a police vehicle when he reportedly suffered a heart attack. His body was subsequently left at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, according to the claim.
Senior journalist Muhammad Umair, in a post on X, stated that the elderly PTI leader was taken from his home by police at around 3 p.m. He claimed that about half an hour later, Satti’s family members were called to the hospital, where they found his body.
Umair further stated that he had spoken to Satti’s family and claimed that they told him they were under pressure and that they would not be given the body until they provided a written statement.
The claims regarding the circumstances of Satti’s death and the alleged pressure on his family could not be independently verified from the information provided.
Ejaz Satti had previously contested elections as a PTI candidate from Cantonment Board Ward 6.
