The Supreme Court has issued a seven-page written verdict in the case concerning the hospital transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and meetings with him, ordering that he be shifted to Shifa Hospital within two days.

According to the court order, a medical board comprising a general physician, general surgeon and eye specialist from Shifa Hospital will be constituted. A cardiologist and a medicine specialist will also be included in the board. Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Uzma will also be attached to the medical board.

The expenses of Shifa International Hospital will be paid by Imran Khan’s family. Until the next hearing, Imran Khan’s family members and party members will not disclose details about his health.

The court also ordered that Imran Khan be allowed to meet his family once a week.

The court directed that it be ensured that no political gathering is held outside the hospital. It also ordered that Imran Khan’s medical reports will not be used for political purposes.

The order states that if the assurances given to the court are violated, the relief granted to Imran Khan may be withdrawn. The government may file an application if it believes that the relief is being misused. Imran Khan and his family members may also file an application in case of any complaint.

The court directed the government to ensure Imran Khan’s security at the hospital.

The Supreme Court also sought details of all cases registered against Imran Khan and ordered that his complete medical record be presented before the court.

The next hearing of the case will be held on September 16.
