Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved a Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) for Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC), under which the state broadcaster will receive Rs3.25 billion every quarter. The committee also approved Rs27.62 billion in sovereign guarantees for the construction of the Sialkot (Sambrial)-Kharian Motorway (M-12) project.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the ECC meeting approved several key decisions related to financial support for the public sector.

The committee considered a summary submitted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting regarding the release of a Technical Supplementary Grant for PTVC during the 2026-27 fiscal year.

After detailed deliberations, the ECC approved the release of Rs3.25 billion on a quarterly basis to help PTVC meet its operational and essential expenditures.

The committee also directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to present the matter before the ECC again within two months, along with a comprehensive plan for PTVC’s financial self-sustainability.

The ECC also reviewed a summary submitted by the Ministry of Communications and approved the issuance of Rs27.62 billion in sovereign guarantees for the construction of the Sialkot (Sambrial)-Kharian Motorway (M-12) under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.

The committee further approved the rollover of the previously issued Operational Viability Gap Funding (VGF) amounting to Rs6.944 billion for the project.

During the meeting, it was stated that the sovereign guarantees would facilitate the concessionaire in achieving the financial close of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in accordance with the approved revised financial structure.
