Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced nationwide protests against inflation and unrest in the country.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has declared that it will observe a full “Day of Protest” across the country tomorrow, Friday, against rising insecurity, the recent wave of terrorism and crushing inflation.
According to the party, protest preparations have been completed on the special appeal of JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
In a central statement issued by the JUI spokesperson, the party said that major and full-scale protest demonstrations would be held on Friday in all provincial capitals as well as at all district headquarters across the country.
The spokesperson appealed to the inflation-hit segments of society and the people of the country to actively and fully participate in the demonstrations for their rights.
Expressing deep concern over the country’s current economic and security situation, the JUI spokesperson said, “The deteriorating law and order situation, unrest and uncontrolled inflation have made life extremely difficult for the poor. The poor class has now been forced into starvation and economic hardship, while the government appears to have completely failed to provide protection and relief to the people.”
